ADAM SPAGNOLO SPRING 2009

ADAM SPAGNOLO SPRING 2009

New York–based menswear designer Adam Spagnolo will launch his Spring 2009 menswear collection inspired by the modern façades of Chelsea’s gallery district this month at Project New York.

The 20-piece line combines linear shapes and graphic patterns in an array of distressed and polished materials. Tailored separates come in lightweight Italian wool and linen, Japanese denim, fine Turkish cotton, and soft lambskin. All pieces are suitable for the fashion-forward urban male. “My goal is to mix architectural overtones with a rock-and-roll aesthetic,” says Spagnolo.

Spagnolo’s Spring 2009 line is the first of the designer’s collections to expand on his signature black and white palette: six pieces incorporate a pale violet. Other unique design elements include graphic embroidery, quilting, hidden chains, and French cuffs with snaps. Fans of the designer will be pleased to find that Spagnolo has not abandoned his earlier best sellers: fly-front shirts are back this year, but could be upstaged by his new round-collar shirts in subdued shades.

Where to Buy:
Adam Spagnolo’s Spring 2009 collection can be seen at Project New York at the Jacob Javits Center, July 21–23, 2008, in booth #817.
