French President Nicolas Sarkozy has honored Yves Saint Laurent , 71 with a Legion of Honor medal reports IHT
The fashion great, who retired in 2002, was named a "grand officer," one of the highest ranks in the prestigious Legion of Honor.
Actress Catherine Deneuve, and Pierre Berge, attended the ceremony at Saint Laurent's home in Paris.
