Guy Laroche has hired Swedish designer Marcel Marongiu as consulting artistic director, in a bid raise the houses's profile, Vogue UK reports.

"We made every mistake that a fashion brand can make," Hendrik Penndorf, Laroche's ceo, admitted to WWD.

"We need to re-create an identity."
