Rinko Kikuchi, stars in Chanel's cruise 2008 collection of handbags set to debut in November, Fashion Week Daily reports.
"She has real power in her gaze, and an enormous potential to be a great actress," said karl Lagerfeld, who shot the campaign in June in Paris .
."She can look at you with childlike naivety, then suddenly become a mysterious woman."
The advertising campaign features Kikuchi posing in a shop window, clasping various bags by her side.
"I've always loved the brand, but it was completely beyond my reach," said the actress, who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Babel. "And now I wear it all the time."
